Question: How to import custom shapes (plates) into IDEA StatiCa?
Answer: You can import a custom or complex shape plate into IDEA StatiCa using a DXF file.
The process involves using the Stiffening plate tool.

For the Shape of the plate, select "Polygon" from the drop-down menu. Then, a DXF window will appear, which you need to click on, and then locate the desired DXF file on your computer.
Note: It is important that the application for creating/viewing DXF files is closed during this process.

A separate dialog box will open in IDEA StatiCa, displaying the selected shape. Here, you need to review/adjust the measurement units, and then either click on all the lines that make up the shape, or hold Ctrl and click on a single line, then use the "Consecutive" tool.

Next, click on "Outline", which defines your shape and displays it in the Details section of the dialog box.
If you have an opening within the polyline, you can add it using the "Opening" tool.
